Katie Piper’s acid attacker fled the country 2-months ago after being recalled to prison for breaching licence conditions
The acid attacker of Katie Piper left the country more than two months ago, after being recalled to prison for breaking licence conditions. The police have released a new picture of the criminal as part of a global manhunt to find him.
Stefan Sylvestre, who was sentenced to life in 2009 for the attack on Katie Piper, fled the country. He became eligible for parole in 2015 and was successfully released in 2018 but was ordered to stay away from Katie. In 2019, he was recalled to prison for car thefts but was granted parole again in 2020 due to prosecution errors. However, he has now left the country, prompting an investigation by the police to find him.
The Met Specialist Crime Command, in collaboration with partner agencies like the National Crime Agency, is leading the investigation into Sylvestre’s whereabouts. The Met Police has issued an appeal for information to locate Sylvestre, who was last known to be in north London.
Daniel Lynch, who was also involved in the attack on Katie Piper, is currently serving a life sentence with a minimum of 16 years. In court, both Lynch and Sylvestre were described as ‘the face of pure evil’ by Judge Nicholas Browne QC.
